Student Athlete Success Center

Welcome to the Long Beach City College Student Athlete Success Center!

The Student Athlete Success Center (SASC) supports and enables student athletes to utilize and integrate the academic resources provided by the SASC, LBCC Athletics, and Counseling to promote academic success and increase retention, graduation, and transfer rates. The SASC assists prospective, current, and former LBCC student athletes with their matriculation to LBCC, their academic success at LBCC, and their transfer from LBCC to a four-year university.

The SASC is committed to the total development of the student athlete and promotes a comprehensive, balanced experience within the college and surrounding community. The Center is focused on four areas:
  • Academic Success
  • Career Planning and Counseling
  • Personal Development
  • Commitment to Service
The Student Athlete Success Center collaborates with departments on campus, as well as programs in the local community. This collaboration allows the SASC to assist and support student athletes and achieve its mission of providing educational opportunities that result in a balanced, well-rounded, and successful student, athlete, and person. Skill Workshops are offered and guest speakers present a wide variety of topics intended to help student athletes grow and learn and succeed at the highest level.

The Student Athlete Success Center provides a friendly, helpful resource assisting in the success of LBCC student athletes. Students can utilize the computer lab to complete school projects/homework, between classes and while they prepare for practice or when practice ends.

SASC programs include the Student Athlete Orientation Program, Student Athlete Leadership Team (SALT), and the Student Athlete Recognition Program.
