LBCC Athletic Training

Athletic Training Mission Statement
The mission of athletic training at Long Beach City College is to optimize health and fitness in our community college athletes in order to enable student athletes to reach their full potential in sport and compete at the highest level possible. In collaboration with our team physician and other health care professionals our practice encompasses the prevention, examination and diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of emergent, acute, subacute and chronic neuromusculoskeletal conditions and certain medical conditions in order to minimize subsequent participation. We strive to understand cultural differences while demonstrating knowledge, attitudes, behaviors and skills necessary to work respectfully and effectively with diverse populations. We act as an advocate of our student athletes, while demonstrating honesty, integrity, exhibiting compassion and empathy.
