Men's Soccer- Mounties Snap Vikings' Winning-Streak
The Long Beach City college men's soccer team's winning-streak was snapped by the Mount San Antonio College Mounties on Tuesday evening. After an entire scoreless first half, the Vikings fell to the Mounties 1-0 in the second half of the game. With the loss, the Vikings drop to 10-3-2.
The Vikings worked tirelessly the entire game. The back line of defenders which included freshman Javier Gonzalez, freshman Miles Hodgson and sophomore Adrian Martinez were the power houses of the game with keeping the Mounties away from freshman goalkeeper Mario DeLaTorre.
After a 0-0 first half, the Mounties completed with a straight laser of a goal to the left side of the Vikings' net in the 83rd minute to win the game 1-0.
The Vikings have since played against the El Camino Warriors which resulted in a tie game with the score of 3 to 3.

Cross Country- Cross Country Places Sixth in the SCC Championships
The men's and women's cross country teams both placed sixth in the South Coast Conference Championships over the weekend at the Don Knabe Community Regional Park in Cerritos.
The women's team garnered 154 points with sophomore Lilyanna Figueroa placing the highest on the team with 16th place with a time of 19:53.1 and averaged 6:20.8 per mile. Freshman Dasani Zavala was right behind Figueroa with an 18th place finish with a time of 19:52.6. Figueroa has improved greatly as she placed 34th in 2017 South Coast Conference Championships with a time of 21:59.2.
On the men's side, sophomore Moises Marquez topped the chart for Long Beach with an 11th place finish and averaged 5:09.3 per mile and held a 20.37.1 overall time. Marquez also received All- South Coast Conference Second Team honors for placing in the top 14. Sophomore Rafael Gonzalez came in 18th with a time of 20:54.2 and then was followed by freshman Evan Ridgeway with a time of 22.46.7.
Both the men's and women's teams qualified for the SoCal Championships which will be this Friday, Nov. 2 at the Don Knabe Community Regional Park in Cerritos at 10 a.m.

Women's Volleyball
The women's volleyball team traveled to Chaffey College last Friday and defeated the Panthers 3-1. The Vikings lost the first set 18-25, but then bounced back and won the next three-consecutive sets 25-23, 25-13, 25-16.
Freshman Levila Iosua totaled 39 assists and seven digs, while freshman Tylie Johnson led the team with 16 kills. Sophomore Elsa Woods had three service aces against the Panthers and sophomore Shelby Cole totaled 16 digs.
The Vikings will play again at home on Oct. 31 against LA Trade Tech at 5 p.m. in the Building Q Gym. To view the remaining schedule, click here.
Women's Water Polo
The women's water polo team defeated Cerritos College 10-6 in their seventh South Coast Conference game to remain undefeated in conference with a record of 7-0. With the win, the Vikings advance to 14-9 overall.
Alejandra Villa scored four goals and had two steals against the Falcons. Samantha Martinez and Karissa Qualley each had two goals. Goalkeeper Cam Rosas only allowed the Falcons to six goals as she garnered eight saves for the Vikings. The Long Beach City College women's water polo team will play again in the South Coast Conference Championships this weekend on Nov. 1-3 at Cerritos College. Football
The Long Beach City College football team defeated Moorpark College 23-18 in their third conference game of the season.
Moorpark was first on the board with 31 yard field goal in the first quarter. The Vikings came back in the second quarter with two touchdowns from freshman quarterback Johnathan Murphy to lead the game 13-3.
In the third quarter, Moorpark scored another field goal to try and close in on the gap, but sophomore kicker Agustin Delgadillo hit a 43 yard field goal to extend the Vikings' lead 16-6. Moorpark made another touchdown to close out the third quarter to only bebehind the Vikings by four points.
In the final quarter, freshman defensive lineman Marvin Boyd had a 76 yard fumble recovery to extend the Vikings lead 23-12. Moorpark hit the end zone one more time and the Vikings finalized the game with a 23-18 win.
The Long Beach City College football team will play again on Saturday Nov. 3 in their final home game of season against College of the Canyons at Veterans Stadium at 5 p.m.

Men's Water Polo
The men's water polo team fell to the Cerritos College Falcons 7-6 last Wednesday in a South Coast Conference game. Aleksa Vucurovic and Karlo Krmek each scored two goals for the Vikings. Hugo Roscio totaled six steaks, four turn-overs and had two blocks.
Freshman goalkeeper Seth Seaboch had nine saves on 16 shots on goal. The Vikings will play again in the South Coast Conference Championships this weekend on Nov. 1-3 at Cerritos College.

Women's Soccer- Vikings Fall to Mounties in Second Half
The Long Beach City College women's soccer team lost to the Mount San Antonio College Mounties 1-0 on Tuesday evening at the Viking Soccer Field. Freshman goalkeeper Sara Larios totaled two saves on three shots on goal for the game.
The Vikings dominated on offense, but then fell in the last five minutes of the game. Sophomore defender Jessica Ochoa regulated the back like with sophomore defender Sophia Corrales and freshman defender Cassandra Hodge.
Freshman forward Brittany Caudillo was a powerhouse as she totaled four shots and would blast through the Mountie defense every chance she got, but ultimately, the Vikings fell with five minutes left on the clock.
Since last week's defeat against the Mounties, the Vikings have reclaimed a winning streak. On Wednesday they defeated the Norco Mustangs, 4-0, and the El Camino Warriors, 3-1.
