Gus Knickrehm (Football, 1946-47): Knickrehm was a two-year standout at LBCC as an offensive and defensive lineman. He was team captain and MVP on his way to being named All-Southern California in 1947. Knickrehm went on to play two seasons at the University of Oregon (1948-49) and helped lead the Ducks to the 1949 Cotton Bowl. Following college, he played professionally for the Chicago Cardinals of the NFL and the Calgary Stampeders of the Canadian Football League (CFL).
