Willie Martin (Football, 1960-61): Martin was a major contributor to LBCC’s 1960 national championship squad. As a freshman, he led the Vikings with 24 receptions for 570 yards. He caught three touchdown passes in the Junior Rose Bowl --- both Jr. Rose Bowl and LBCC records. Martin was named second-team all-conference in 1960 and 1961. He left the college as the school’s all-time leader in receptions, receiving yards, and touchdown catches. Following LBCC, he played two seasons at Long Beach State University (193-64) and was a member of the semi-pro Long Beach Falcons in 1965.
