The Long Beach City College women's beach volleyball team returned to its home shore for conference action against the El Camino College Warriors and the Rio Hondo College Road Runners at Granada Beach in Long Beach, CA. It was a high energy under beautiful conditions as the Viking's defeated El Camino, 3-2, and Rio Hondo, 5-0.
Long Beach was tasked with a tough competitor to begin the day by facing off against the Warriors. Sophomore Sarah Miller (Long Beach, CA) and freshman Paige Panter (Southgate, TX) handled their business with ease on the first court by winning in two sets. Freshman Jordan Diaz (La Habra, CA) and freshman Marina Adolpho (Long Beach, CA) backed them by winning their first set by four points, followed by a two-point edge.
Sophomore Breana Torres (Long Beach, CA) and freshman Amber Bangma (Long Beach, CA) sealed the deal by taking their match in two sets to haul in a 3-2 victory.
LBCC cruised through Rio Hondo the following match with each team hauling in two-set victories. Bangma and Torres allowed just a combined seven points for their opponents, while sophomore Geraldine Poon (Long Beach, CA) and freshman Valeria Payan (Pacoima, CA) allowed just 15 points.
