Long Beach Women's Beach Volleyball Hosts 2017 PCAC Championships

In its inaugural season, the Long Beach City College women's beach volleyball team had a successful regular season by placing third in the Pacific Coast Conference with a conference record of 8-4 and an overall record of 13-4. The Vikings are set to host the Pacific Coast Conference Championships this Friday, April 28th at Granada Beach in Long Beach, CA beginning at 9 a.m.

The championships will be live streamed free of charge through the Long Beach City College Livestream account presented by www.lbccvikings.com.

Long Beach held an overall set record of 44-16 aided by an 11-1 flight one record held by sophomore Sarah Miller (Long Beach, CA) and freshman Paige Panter (Southgate, TX). Miller and Panter only lost one match on the entire season that was included in a team-sweep against MiraCosta. However, the pair came back and handled MiraCosta in two sets the following meeting.

Miller and Panter have one all of there matches in set sweeps with the exception of one. In the lone three-set victory, the top-ranked duo came back from a one-set deficit and defeated San Diego Mesa in the following two sets. This top-pair will face off against the winner of El Camino's fives and San Diego Mesa's fives.

Freshman tandem Jordan Diaz (La Habra, CA) and Marina Aldolpho (Long Beach, CA) earn the top spot in the second flight after posting a record of 8-3 after tie breakers and hold the eighth-overall seeding. The two paired up for the first time in a match-sweep over Saddleback and continued to play well together. 

Long Beach does not boast a flight record below .500. They hold the fourth-best third flight with a 6-6 record, the fourth-best fourth flight with a mark of 7-5, and the third-best fifth flight with a mark of 8-4.

Long Beach 2's vs. Palomar 4's
