Beach Volleyball Brings All-Conference Honors

It was recently announced by the South Coast Conference (SCC) that eight beach volleyball players earned All-Conference recognition. Highlighting the award winners were sophomore Jordan Diaz and freshman Tatyana Tuilaii-Umi, who were crowned the Individual Pairs Champions. Diaz and Umi, along with freshmen Josannah Vazquez and Sierra Davis earned SCC First-Team accolades, while sophomore Jessica Kaeka, freshmen Brooklin Mize, Doris Woods and Isabella Alvarez brought in SCC Second-Team honors. Furthermore, second-year head coach Misty May-Treanor was named the All-SCC Coach of the Year.

This was May-Treanor's second SCC Coach of the Year Award, as she was named the All-SCC Co-Coach of the Year during the 2017 Indoor Volleyball season.  She also led the talented group of athletes to a 18-5 overall season, while going perfect in conference with a 6-0 record.

Vazquez and Davis also brought in First-Team recognition as they placed third in the SCC Pairs Championship and then went on to compete in the finals at the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) State Championships.

Kaeka and Mize received Second-Team honors with their grit in the sand. The pair took fifth place in the conference and went on to qualify in the top 16 to compete in the CCCAA State Championships.

Woods and Alvarez rounded out the top 6 for the conference to earn them a spot on the All-Conference list with Second-Team honors.
