Beach Volleyball Looks to Compete at CCCAA State Team Championship

The No. 2 Long Beach City College beach volleyball team is set to compete at the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) State Team Championship on Thursday, May 9 at Chula Vista Elite Athlete Training Center.

Last year, the Vikings defeated Moorpark 5-0 in their first match at the CCCAA State Team Championships and then fell to Cabrillo College 3-2. With the loss, the Vikings capped the season with a third place finish as a team and Cabrillo went on to win to the 2018 CCCAA State Team Championship.

Tomorrow, the Vikings are set to play against No. 3 Irvine Valley at 12 p.m. and No. 1 Sierra at 2 p.m. in the Pool Two bracket. The Pool One bracket consists of No. 1 Grossmont, No. 2 Gavilan, and No. 4 El Camino. The winners of both Pool One and Pool Two will compete in the championship game at 4:30 p.m.
