The Long Beach City College baseball team fell to the El Camino Warriors 5-1 in the South Coast Conference game on Tuesday afternoon. With the loss the Vikings drop to 17-15 overall and 8-6 in conference play.
Sophomore pitcher Jacob Alcorn (6-3) took the loss on the mound with three runs on nine hits, while striking out nine.
The Warriors opened the game with two runs off a single in the first inning. They score once more in the top of the third to keep the lead 3-0.
In the bottom of the seventh inning, sophomore left fielder Collin Perez doubled to right field to bring in sophomore center fielder Val Stammler for the Vikings' only run.
The Warriors scored two more runs in the top of the eighth to seal their conference victory 5-1.
The Long Beach City College baseball team will return to conference action on Thursday, Apr. 12 at El Camino College at 2:30 p.m.
