Football: Former Vikings Braman, Burton meet in NFL preseason game

Just five years after two-year standout careers at Long Beach City College, former teammates Bryan Braman (left) and Stephen Burton (right) went head-to-head as the Minnesota Vikings hosted the Houston Texans in a Week 1 NFL exhibition game.

Braman provided this great photo of him and Burton as they greated each other following the Texans' 23-17 win. Braman had two tackles and a sack while Burton caught three passes for 67 yards.

Braman and Burton were both two-year all-conference standouts for LBCC in 2007 & 2008. Following Long Beach, the pair went on to play together at West Texas A&M University. In 2011, Braman signed as a free agent with Houston while Burton was a seventh-round draft pick by Minnesota. Both are are opening their third seasons in the NFL this fall.

Last year, Braman recorded 20 tackles from the linebacker position for the Texans and also scored his first career NFL touchdown after blocking a punt and returning it eight yards for a score. At wide receiver, Burton caught five passes for the Vikings and also scored his first career NFL touchdown.
