The postseason honors continue to roll in for a Long Beach City College football team that put together an impressive 9-2 overall record in 2014. Freshman running back Anterio Bateman (Serra HS) and freshman free safety London Iakopo (Mater Dei HS) were both named to the California Community College Football Coaches Association (CCCFCA) Region III All-California team.

Bateman became LBCC's first 1,000 yard rusher since 2004 after collecting 1,135 yards on 158 carries over 11 games. His 1,135 yards ranked second in Southern California and sixth among state leaders.

He was more than just a threat on the ground as he racked up 1,779 all-purpose yards and totaled 12 touchdowns for the Vikings. He also caught 36 passes for 452 yards, had 16 punt returns for 130 yards, and returned three kickoffs for 62 yards. His 1,779 all-purpose yards led the SCFA and was second in the state.

Bateman was also a first-team SCFA All-Central League pick at both the running back and all-purpose positions.

Iakopo was a leader in the Vikings' secondary and came up with some of the biggest defensive hits of the season. Iakopo was second on the squad with 60 tackles and also posted two interceptions and six pass breakups.

He was also a first-team All-Central League selection as well.
