After an impressive football season, sophomore defensive left Gilbert "Bubba" Valera signed a National Letter of Intent to finish his academic and athletic career at St. Francis University.
Valera hailed First-Team All-Conference defense honors with 39 total tackles for the season with 16 assisted.
Valera had eight sacks against his opposing quarterbacks and was the SCFA central league defensive player of the week for week nine. He played in all 11 games of the season with 23 tackles, 16 assists and averaged 3.5 tackles per game.
Valera will compete on the football team at St. Francis University, starting this upcoming Fall season. The Red Flash are led by Chris Villarrial and compete at the NCAA Division 1 level.
