Long Beach to Host Southern California Bowl Against Southwestern

The No. 12 Long Beach City College football team is set to play one more game this season by hosting the 2019 Southern California Bowl against No. 18 Southwestern College on Saturday, Nov. 23 at Veterans Memorial Stadium at 6 p.m.

Game tickets will be sold for $12 at the door. The cost of admission for seniors, staff, faculty and students will be $8 and the game will be streamed live compliments of LBCC Viking Productions on YouTube.

The Vikings earned their bowl game after splitting the Northern League conference title in a three-way tie with Ventura and Canyons. The Vikings posted an overall record of 7-3 and near perfect record in conference with a 4-1 mark.

This season, sophomore running Talaun Patton put himself on top of the conference leaderboard with rushing 70.6 yards per game. Freshman quarterback Derrach West was ranked second on the conference leaderboard with passing 217.4 yards per game, throwing 17 touchdown passes and holding down eight touchdowns on the ground.

As for Southwestern, the Jaguars finished their season with a 6-4 overall record and 2-3 record in the Southern League.
