The No. 21 Long Beach City College Vikings football team took a hard dive against the No. 3 Mounties with a 70-14 loss. With the loss, the Vikings drop to 4-5 overall and are 3-3 in conference play.

The Mounties came out full steam and shut out the Vikings nearly the entire first half. The Vikings started to make a comeback towards the end of the second quarter with two consecutive runs. Running back Kaleb Foster ran the first one in and then wide receiver Ashun (Remil) Brown received one in the air from quarterback Jett Peddy close in on the Mounties 34-14. Kicker Ethan Smithlin hit his marks and was 2/2 in extra points.

In the second half, the Mounties kept their offense rolling with five more touchdowns to finalize the 70-14 conference win over the Vikings.

The Long Beach City College football team will return to the field next Saturday, Nov. 11 at No. 18 Citrus College at 1 p.m.
