Mike Reisbig stepped down as head coach of the Long Beach City College football program following the 2012 season and remains with the team as an assistant coach.

Reisbig, now in his 25th year at the college, originally joined the LBCC coaching staff in 1992. Since then, Reisbig has held numerous positions on the coaching staff, including head coach, associate head coach, offensive coordinator, and has coached every offensive position for the Vikings.

During his coaching tenure at LBCC, the Vikings won a national championship in 1995, have captured six conference championships, and have made 11 bowl game appearances.

In 2017, Reisbig helped led the Vikings to their third-consecutive National Central conference championship with a 55-48 win over conference rival El Camino College. The Vikings also won their third-consecutive bowl game beating Bakersfield College to take home the Patriotic Bowl title. LBCC posted an overall record of 8-3, going 4-1 in conference play.

In 2011 as head coach, he led the Vikings to a SCFA Central West Division championship and a spot in the Central Championship Bowl.

In his first season as head coach in 2008, Reisbig led the Vikings to a 4-6 overall record and a sixth place finish (1-5) in the SCFA National Division Southern Conference.

Prior to his arrival at LBCC, Reisbig totaled five years of head coaching experience at the high school level.

Reisbig was head coach at St. Anthony High School for two seasons (1987-88) and in 1987, he led his squad to a 9-3 record and a league championship. Reisbig was also head coach at Aquinas High School in San Bernardino from 1989-91.

From 1982-87, Reisbig was an assistant coach at Pasadena City College.

Reisbig earned his bachelor’s degree in physical education from Cal Poly Pomona and earned his master’s at Azusa Pacific University.

He and his wife Lori live in Huntington Beach with their two sons, Richard and Robert.
