Vikings Win Third Conference Game Over LA Harbor

The Long Beach City College men's basketball team defeated the La Harbor College Seahawks 90-71 on Wednesday evening in the Hall of Champions. This win brings the Vikings up to 15-11 overall and 4-3 in the South Coast Conference. The Vikings were surpassed the Seahawks on offense with being 70% at the free throw line.

In the first half, the Seahawks were first on the board with two points. The Vikings quickly tied it up, but the Seahawks kept coming back to take the lead. Finally, freshman forward Artis Parris tied the game one last time and sophomore guard William English took control for the lead. English led with 14 points in the first half and had four rebounds. Freshman guard Jeremiah Sadler was next up with eight points and was the catalyst to the offense with five assists.

In the second half, Sadler finished the game with 11 more points. English totaled 21 points for the game. English, Matthew Wooten and Mark Neal Jr. all had seven rebounds each to keep the Vikings' ball control tight. Long Beach finalized the 90-71 win with a jumper from Nicolas Stuart.

Long Beach men's basketball will play again on Friday, Feb. 9 against El Camino College at 7 p.m. in their next conference game in the Hall of Champions and host the 2018 Coaches vs Cancer event.
