The Long Beach City College men's soccer team couldn't hold an early lead and fell 2-1 at El Camino College Compton Center on Friday. The South Coast Conference loss was the Vikings' third straight and dropped LBCC to 4-4-1 overall and 0-2-0 in SCC play.
Freshman Ari Claro (Artesia HS) gave the Vikings a 1-0 lead in the 22nd minute with his unassisted goal, but Compton quickly erased the advantage with a goal by Irving Alvarado in the 28th minute. And in the 40th, Compton took the lead for good with a goal by Obed Romero as both teams went scoreless in the second half.
Long Beach looks to snap its losing streak on Tuesday (Oct. 6) at 4 p.m. when the Vikings host El Camino College in a conference game.
