Long Beach Men's Soccer Finishes in Scoreless Draw Against Chaffey

The Long Beach City College men's soccer team tied the Chaffey College Panthers 0-0 on Friday afternoon at the Viking Soccer Field. The Vikings totaled eight shots on the Panther goalkeeper, but were unable to complete and ended the game with both sides remaining scoreless.

Sophomore goalkeeper Andres Figueroa-Flores had three saves in 90 minutes of work. The defense worked together as a unit to keep the backline strong against the Panthers. Freshman defender Anthony Mejia and sophomore defender Julian Guerrero broke up multiple Panther scoring opportunties and stayed sturdy as a defending force.

On the offense, freshman midfielder Ruben Menjivar had two shots on goal, but was unable to break through the net for the Vikings. Sophomore midfielder Fabio Mujica also earned two shots on the Chaffey goal, but was blocked by the Panther keeper.

The men's soccer team will play again on Tuesday, Oct. 17 at Pasadena City College at 2 p.m.
