Vikings Fall to Oxnard College in SoCal Regionals

The Long Beach City College Men's soccer team saw its season come to an end with a 2-1 loss to Oxnard College on Saturday in an opening round game of the Southern California Regional Playoffs. This was the fourth meeting between the Vikings and the Condors in the SoCal Regionals and the tenth postseason appearance under head coach Cameron Beaulac.

Long Beach scored first in the 7th minute of the game with a goal from sophomore forward Christopher Ribet with the assist by freshman midfielder Jesse Alvarez.

The Condors answered back in the 22nd minute of the game with a corner kick assist to a goal to tie the game 1-1. Oxnard scored once more in the first half from a free kick straight to the left corner of the Vikings' goal.

The second half remained scoreless and the Vikings ended the game with a loss to the Condors 2-1. Ribet and Alvarez both had two shots on goal and sophomore goalkeeper Andres Figueroa-Flores had three saves with five shots on goal in 90 minutes of prime time.

The Vikings ended their 2017 season with an 11-6-5 overall record with a 3-2-3 South Coast Conference mark.
