Men's Soccer Rallies in Second Half Against Victor Valley

The Long Beach City College men's soccer team took down the Victor Valley Rams 4-1 on Friday afternoon. The Vikings were unstoppable on offense as they totaled 17 shots throughout the game. With the win, the Vikings advance to 5-2 overall.

The Rams scored the first goal within the first 15 minutes with a straight shot to the left side. Then at the 37th minute, sophomore midfielder Oskar Raymundo had a header with the assist from sophomore Ruben Menjivar and Victor Onofre.

In the second half of the game, freshman midfielder Sergio Flores scored the Vikings' second goal with help from Raymundo. After seven shots on goal, sophomore forward Steven Espinoza finally connected to the back of the net with a header. Menjivar was the last Viking to score to finalize the game with the 4-1 win.

Freshman goalkeeper Mario DeLaTorre had two saves against three shots on goal in 90 minutes of play.

The Vikings will return to action again on Tuesday, Sept. 25 against El Camino College in their first South Coast Conference game at 4 p.m.
