Vikings Comeback and Defeat ELAC 2-1

In a match that had playoff implications, Long Beach men's soccer would go on the road and defeat East Los Angeles College with a brace from sophomore forward Cameron Badal (Millikan HS). This was the final regular conference game. With the win, they end the season in a tie for fourth with Rio Hondo College.

The first half would see the Vikings dominate possession as the Huskies were forced to chase the ball around the field. The Vikings had several scoring opportunities, but would unfortunately enter the half locked up at zeros. Starting the second half, ELAC would get their only clear scoring opportunity of the game, and would finish it, taking a 1-0 lead at minute 49. The lead would not last for long, as freshman midfielder Jonathan Grado (Anaheim HS) would make a 60-yard run with the ball and lay it off Badal, who would take a prep touch and then smoothly place the ball into the back of the net from ten yards out at the 56-minute mark. On the ensuing kick-off, the Vikings would deposes ELAC, go down the field, and earn a corner kick. Jose Ventura (Anaheim H.S.) would take the set and place a perfectly crossed ball to the head of Badal who put it into the back of the net, giving the Vikings the much needed second goal for the victory.
