The Long Beach City College Vikings defeated the Cypress College Chargers 3-1 on Tuesday evening. With the win, the Vikings hold a 2-1-1 record.

The Vikings were relentless as they came out the gate energized and ready to win. Defender Julian Pearce was on the board first for the Vikings with an assist from defender Andrew Zeballos.

The Chargers matched their energy with a goal to tie the Vikings and end the first half of the game.

Forward Kayvon Monfared smashed a header from a corner kick to take back the lead for the Vikings, and then forward Jose Mariscal finished off the Chargers with one last goal.

Goalkeeper Abraham Ramirez tallied five saves with six shots on goal.
