The No. 1 Long Beach City College men's soccer team is ready to kick off their postseason campaign, hosting No. 16 Cypress College on Saturday, Nov. 23, at 7 p.m. in the second round of the 3C2A Regional Championships. The Vikings earned a first-round bye, while Cypress advanced after defeating No. 17 Santa Ana College.
Tickets for this 3C2A playoff matchup are available through the Hometown Ticketing app. General admission is $12, while discounted tickets for students, faculty, staff, senior citizens (60+), and children under 12 are $8.
Long Beach enters the playoffs riding high after clinching the South Coast Conference Tournament title with a 1-0 victory over Los Angeles City College. Guided by Head Coach and Director of Soccer Operations Jorge Reyes, the Vikings boast a 16-3-3 overall record and are making their fourth consecutive postseason appearance.
Last season, the Vikings reached Round 3 of the SoCal Regionals before falling 2-1 to Cuyamaca College. This year, they'll look to push further, needing three wins to secure a spot in the 2024 3C2A State Championships, set for Dec. 6 and 8 at American River College in Sacramento.
Cypress College arrives as the No. 16 seed after finishing fourth in the Orange Empire Conference with a 5-3-6 league record and an 8-6-8 mark overall.
