2016 CCCAA STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS PSYCH SHEETS

Long Beach City College has qualified for five individual events and three relays for the upcoming California Community College Athletic Association Swimming & Diving Championships at East Los Angeles College in Monterey Park. The three-day event runs May 5-7.

Fresh off his record-setting performance at last week's South Coast Conference Championships, sophomore Conor Shuey leads the way for LBCC as he will compete in three individuals events as well as suit up for two of LBCC's three relay qualifying teams. Shuey, the new school-record holder in the 200-yard breaststroke, will compete in that event at the state championships as well as in the 100 breaststroke and 500 freestyle.

Sophomore Ryan Dionne is a double-qualifier for the Vikings and will take part in all three relay events. Dionne will hit the pool for the 100 and 200 butterfly events.

The 200 medley relay team of Aaron Mowl, Shuey, Dionne, and Mark Dennison, the 400 medley relay team of Mowl, Shuey, Dionne, and Jack Larson, as well as the 200 freestyle relay team of Larson, Frankie Cervantes, Dionne, and Denison will all make the trip to East Los Angeles College.

The Vikings are coming off a second-place finish at the South Coast Conference Championships. Last season, LBCC failed to qualify for the state championships.
