LBCC Swimming & Diving Set for 2017 SCC Championships

The Long Beach City College men's and women's swimming & diving program is set to make waves in the 2017 South Coast Conference Swimming Championships at Mt. San Antonio College starting on Thursday, April 20th and continuing thorugh Saturday, April 22nd.

For the men, sophomore Mark Denison helms the squad as he will compete in the 50 Free (21.16 seed time), 200 Free (1:48.01 seed time), and the 100 Free (48.37). Sophomore Aaron Mowl backs him with his efforts by competing in the 50 Free (22.08 seed time), 100 Back (54.53 seed time), and 200 Back (2:01.86 seed time).

Freshman Myles Martinez has had a successful season in the distance swimming events as he will look to place in the 1650 Free (18:51.16 seed time) and the 500 Free (5:19.64 seed time).

For the women, freshman Samantha Wooley will continue to lead the pack in various events, beginning with the 50 Free (25.29 seed time). She will continue on to the 100 Back (1:03.38 seed time) and the 100 Free (56.16 seed time).

Freshman Cori Reynolds enters the championships after a strong regular season and will swim in the 50 Free (26.61 seed time), 100 Breaststroke (1:15.59 seed time), and the 200 Breaststroke (2:47.17 seed time). Freshman MacKenzie Clark will hit the distance swims first with the 500 Free (6:49.87 seed time), and continue on to the 100 Back (1:16.36 seed time) and the 200 Fly (2:58.67).
