No. 1 Vikings Are Unstoppable Against LA Trade Tech

The top-ranked men's volleyball team won their seventeenth game in a row against LA Trade Tech in a three-set sweep on Friday evening. With the conference win, the Vikings hold a 4-0 record in the Western State Conference.

 The LA Trade Tech Beavers put up a fight in the first set and made the Vikings fight off five set points before they took their first set win 32-30. The men's volleyball team bounced back in the second and third sets by taking the Beavers 25-15 and then 25-12 in the final set.

Freshman opposite Robert Oliver boasted a .500 kill percentage for the game and had a game-high record of 13 kills. Sophomore opposite Noah Taitano was right behind him with a kill percentage of .467 and brought home eight kills, four digs and one block assists.

Sophomore opposite Marques Buggs was the star of the show with leading the team with 14 kills, two service aces and four digs. Freshman setter Melbe Perez was the leading member of the team with a game-high record of 42 assists.

The No. 1 Long Beach City College Vikings will be back in action at Santa Monica College on Wednesday, April 11 at 6 p.m.
