Men’s Volleyball Sweeps Miramar College Jets with Ease

The Long Beach City College men's volleyball team took down the Miramar College Jets 3-0 on Friday evening. With the win, the Vikings advance to 4-1.

The Vikings took the lead early on by sealing the first set with a 25-9 win. The Jets tried to bounce back in the second set, but Long Beach fired back and won 25-17, and then finished the sweep with the 25-15 win in the third set.

Freshman outside hitter Kyle Anema led the Vikings with 17 total points. He smashed 11 kills and had three service aces against the Jets. He also totaled four digs and had four blocks.

Freshman opposite Uriel Batista had nine points with six kills and one service ace for the Vikings. He also nailed three digs and had three blocks against the Jets.

Freshman setter Joseph Rocha was the catalyst behind the ball as he had 12 assists for Long Beach.

The Long Beach City College men's volleyball team will return to action on Wednesday, Feb. 13 against Orange Coast College at 6 p.m.
