Vikings Shine in 3-0 Conference Victory over Antelope Valley

The Long Beach City College men's volleyball team took down the Antelope Valley College Marauders 3-0 in their third conference match on Wednesday evening. With the win the Vikings improve to 6-3 overall, and 2-1 in conference play.

The Vikings came out with a bang as they opened the game with a 4-0 lead. The Vikings didn't miss a beat or give the Marauders a chance as they never gave up their lead throughout the entire game.

Freshman setter Joseph Rocha was the brain and the leader on the court with having 22 assists for the Vikings. He was unstoppable with his ball contact and propelled Long Beach as a team.

Freshman outside hitter Vinicius da Silva and freshman opposite Daniel Lozada were strong forces behind the ball as they both hit four service aces each against the Marauders to help lead the Vikings to victory.

Freshman outside hitter Kyle Anema was a constant threat behind the net as he was finished the game with a .444% kill percentage and had three services, three digs and three total blocks.

The Vikings will return to conference action on Friday, Mar. 8 against Santa Monica College at home at 6 p.m.
