Moorpark, Calif. - The Viking men's cross country team finished fourth at the Moorpark Invite at Arroyo Vista Park, edging Chaffey and Pasadena, on Friday morning.

Freshman Leonardo Acevedo paced Long Beach in his first collegiate race, finishing the four-mile course in 22:49.84, good for 12th overall, but scoring 11th in the team competition. Sophomore Jonathan Ruiz was close behind in 14th place, finishing in 23:10.89, good for 13th in the team standings.

Freshmen Gerardo Rubio (25th - 24:05.28), Nathan Garcia (31st - 24:23.06), and Abraham Romero-Tobar (39th - 25:14.51) rounded out the top five for the Vikings. 

The team continues competition on Friday, Sept. 3 at the Canyons Invite, hosted by College of the Canyons.
