Men’s Cross Country Takes Second at the South Coast Conference Championships

The Long Beach City College men’s cross-country team took home second place at the South Coast Conference Championships.

The Long Beach City College men's cross-country team took home second place at the South Coast Conference Championships on Friday morning at Wilson Park in Torrance. The women's team came in fourth place with 98 points.

Freshman Leonardo Acevedo placed the highest for the Vikings with an 11^th place finish with a time of 21:49.2 in the men's four-mile race. Right behind him was sophomore Jonathan Ruiz in 12^th place with a time of 21:49.9

For the women's team, freshman Aliene Rios took home 16^th place in the 5K run with a time of 21:23.5. Sophomore Vanessa Washington finished in the 17^th with 21:30.0 on the clock.

The Vikings will run again at the SoCal Regional Championships at Mile Square Park in Fountain Valley on Saturday, Nov. 6.
