Men's Cross Country Performs at State Championship

The men's cross country team competed in the 3C2A State Championships over the weekend.

It was a challenging course at Woodward Park in Fresno, with a sea of competitors. The terrain was tough, with steep inclines and uneven paths. Amongst such a competitive field, sophomore Riki Moscoso finished 87th with a time of 22:12.4, showcasing remarkable determination and stamina. The race was a true test of endurance and perseverance, and sophomore Leonardo Acevedo placed 93rd, while also contributing immensely, demonstrating the team's collective effort and spirit.

"We didn't execute as well as we did in the SoCal Regionals," said Director of Cross-Country/ Track & Field Marcus Carroll. "The poor weather conditions really got to us. Although we didn't reach our goal in this championship, I am still proud of our guys for the grit and determination they demonstrated this entire postseason. I look forward to seeing our freshman continue to develop this offseason as we prepare to make another and deeper run next season."

The Vikings will return to cross-country courses next season.
