Mike Fillipow enters his first season as assistant men's and women's cross-country coach. Coach Fillipow comes with an exceptional coaching background and notable accomplishments attained at Long Beach Poly High School. He served 18 years as the Boy's Cross Country Coach where he guided 17 Moore League XC Titles, 18 CIF XC appearances with 7 top 7 finishes and 1 Individual CIF Champion, and 8 XC State Meet appearances with 6 top 10 finishes. He was a 2-Time Press Telegram Cross Country Coach of the Year. As an athlete, Mike was a Professional Triathlete 1986-89 and recently came back to the community college level to compete with our 2021 and 2022 XC South Coast Conference Runner-Up Teams. During his time here at LBCC, he was also a 4.0 Student-Athlete and a member of the 2021 and 2022 3C2A All-State Academic Team.
