Softball: Vikings snap losing streak with 8-5 win over Pasadena

The Long Beach City College softball team snapped a two-game losing streak thanks to its 8-5 South Coast Conference win over visiting Pasadena City College on Tuesday.

The win evened LBCC's overall record at 9-9 and improved the Vikings to 4-3 in conference play. Pasadena dropped to 7-12 overall and 2-5 in the SCC.

Freshman Frances Campoy (Santa Fe HS) earned the win after allowing four runs and seven hits over four innings to improve to 7-4 overall. She struck out five and walked one.

Freshman Christine Kennedy (El Segundo HS) allowed a run over two innings and pitched her way out of bases loaded jam in the sixth. And freshman Nancy Montanez (Gahr HS) earned her first save of the season with a perfect seventh inning.
