The Vikings shut out the College of the Canyons Cougars 8-0 in a dominating performance on Wednesday afternoon.
Pitcher Bayleigh Fry claimed her 17th victory on the mound, limiting the Cougars to just two hits while striking out four batters. In the final inning, Abby Hansen took charge, conceding only one hit and securing one strikeout.
The Vikings wasted no time, scoring five runs in the opening inning. They continued their offensive onslaught with two more runs in the second inning and clinched the mercy rule victory with another run in the fifth.
Xiomei Geluz, Robin Garcia, Anaya Togia, Alejandra Mota, Julianna Chavez, and Jordyn Villanueva each contributed a run, while Alynna Gonzalez crossed home plate twice.
Next up, the Vikings will hit the field again on Thursday, April 25, facing off against El Camino College at 2 p.m.
