Competing at one of the biggest track and field meets of the season, Long Beach City College freshman Bayron Manuel put together his finest effort of the year. At the prestigous Mt. SAC Relays, Manuel cruised to first-place overall in the 110-meter high hurdles with a season-best time of 14.39 to lead a group of 14 Vikings at the invitational meet on Saturday.
Manuel, originally out of Long Beach Wilson High School, edged El Camino's Chris Graham (14.49) by one-tenth of a second to take first. Manuel's time of 14.39 is second best in Southern California this season.
Sophomore Justin Weaver also had a season-bes time of 1:56.86 in the 800 meters to take third while the 4x400 relay squad of Damond Burns, Jordan Noble, Travis Thomas, and Kendrick Miller were second in their section with a season-best time of 3:19.80.

Leading the LBCC women was the 4x100 relay team of Danasia Richards, Chantel Dunson, Deborahnay Love, and Maryeh Goins. They took first in their section with a time of 50.24.
