Vikings Track & Field Compete at Oxy Invite

The Long Beach City College men's and women's track & field traveled to Los Angeles, CA to compete in the 2017 Occidental Distance Carnival Spring Break Classic this Saturday. Long Beach competed well by stringing together some quality finishes in the classic.

Freshman Seayanna Crawford highlighted the women's performances by landing the lone top-10 finish for the Vikings. She placed ninth overall in the 400M with a solid mark of 1:01.24. Freshman Courtney Varela backed her efforts by placing 15th overall in the 400M with a time of 1:03.14.

Freshman Marlene Contreras performed well in the Javelin by tossing a mark of 22.12m to earn 15th place. Freshman Larissa Bohay followed by placing 17th overall with a mark of 21.60m.

Sophomore Willie Jenkins paced Long Beach by placing 63rd overall in the 800M with a time of 2:02.60. Freshman Alex Hoskins finished with a time of 2:20.53 to place 89th, while freshman Isaac McKenzie placed 90th with a time of 2:26.99.

The Vikings will compete at the CSUN Invite starting Friday, March 17th at Cal State University Northridge.
