Track Opens 2020 Season at Pomona-Pitzer

The Long Beach City College Track & Field team competed in their first meet of the 2020 season this past weekend at the Pomona-Pitzer Collegiate All-Comers meet in Claremont.

The women's team showed top results against four-year universities as sophomore Aazalet Danage placed third in the 100-meter finals and fifth in the 200 meters finals. Freshman Jada Reese took second place in the 200-meters finals with a time of 25.45 and sophomore Jocelyn Galloway took home fourth place in the shot put finals with a 10.35m mark.

On the men's side, freshman Xavier Evans took 25th in the 400 meters finals with a time of 53.60 and freshman Kai Ruth took fourth in the 110 hurdles finals with a 15.32 time and eleventh in the 400 hurdles with a 1:03.12.

The track & field team will return to action at the Pasadena Invite at Pasadena City College on Saturday, Feb. 22 at 9 a.m.
