Women's Basketball: No. 15 Long Beach cruises to 82-34 win over Compton
The No. 15 state-ranked Long Beach City College women's basketball team won its sixth consecutive game after defeating visiting El Camino College Compton Center 82-34 in a South Coast Conference contest at the LBCC Hall of Champions Gym on Friday. The win improved LBCC to 16-4 overall and 8-3 in the SCC.

The Vikings opened the contest with a 10-3 lead and never looked back. The Vikings led 44-15 at halftime and was able to play reserves for the majority of the contest.

Freshman forward Symphony Logan (pictured) led all with a game-high 18 points in just 23 minutes. She sank 9 of 11 shots and grabbed eight rebounds. Freshman forward Kaaron King came off the bench to score 11 points to go with three blocks. Freshman forward Charmaine Nelson added 10 points, and freshman center Toynell Williams had 12 rebounds.

Compton (1-14, 1-9 SCC) was led by Mykell Trunnell with 10 points and eight rebounds. Ebony Robinson grabbed 12 rebounds to go with four points.


The LBCC women return to action on Wednesday (Feb 1) when they travel to face No. 2 state-ranked Mt. San Antonio College in a 5 pm SCC game.
