Sophomore Kaaron King (pictured) scored 20 points while sophomore Talia Rayford grabbed 19 rebounds to help lead the No. 6 state-ranked Long Beach City College women's basketball team to an 83-50 South Coast Conference win over visiting Los Angeles Southwest College on Wednesday night at LBCC.

The Vikings (15-2, 5-1 SCC) dominated from the opening tip and rolled out to a commanding 16-2 early and were up 49-20 at halftime.

Long Beach forced 32 LA Southwest turnovers and totaled 18 steals.

King added nine rebounds and seven steals while Rayford chipped in with eight points. Freshman Shakeena Benton had 14 points and freshman Janissa Zagal sank three 3-point baskets on her way to 11 points.

Cranesha Jennings had a game-high 30 points thanks to six 3-pointers for LA Southwest (7-8, 3-3 SCC).

LBCC plays at East Los Angeles College on Friday (Jan 18) at 7 p.m.
