Long Beach City College's Michael Anderson and freshman guard Abbey Goodsell (Orange Lutheran HS) both earned top South Coast Conference South Division honors and head a list of seven all-conference postseason selections. Anderson was named the SCC South Division Coach of the Year while Goodsell was named SCC South Most Valuable Player.

Anderson led the Vikings to their first conference title since 2007 and has tied the school record for wins with 24 for the second consecutive season. A playoff victory on Saturday would set a new record.

Goodsell led the Vikings in scoring and assists, averaging 13.4 points and 4.2 assists per game. Her finest game of the season came on February 12 when she scored a season-high 29 points thanks to six three-pointers at Los Angeles Harbor College.

First-team All-SCC South Division selections include sophomore guards Shakeena Benton (Lakewood HS) and Jasmine Williams (Katella HS), and freshman center Darshana Taafua (Western HS).

Also, sophomore center Crystal Cockerhan (Poly HS) and sophomore forward Symphony Logan (Jordan HS) were second team all-conference picks.

Long Beach will be making its third straight postseason appearance this week. Southern California Regional playoff brackets will be announced on Monday (Feb 24).
