The No. 13 women's basketball team defeated the Cerritos College Falcons 73-69 on sophomore night in the Hall of Champions. With the win, the Vikings rise to 18-10 overall and 5-3 in the South Coast Conference.

Sophomore guard Doylebonet Walker led the team with 22 points, two rebounds, and two assists. She was the first to get on board for the Vikings at the start of the game.

At the end of the first quarter, the Vikings led the Falcons 16-14. Walker scored a three pointer in the start of the second quarter to extend the lead to 19-14. Sophomore guard Jada Haynes totaled four points in the second quarter, while sophomore Julia Ochoa totaled three assists.

In the third quarter, the Vikings were up 35-32. Walker scored her second three pointer, while Ochoa was three-for-four at the free throw line.

The Vikings put down the gas pedal and finalized the 73-69 victory in the fourth and totaled 43 rebounds for the game. Sophomore point Brittnay McDaniel was unstoppable at the rim with 11 rebounds and also had two steals. Sophomore guard Esther Franks was right behind McDaniel with 10 rebounds, two assists and scored six points.
