Vikings Fall to Cerritos in Conference Action

The Long Beach City College women's basketball team fell to the Cerritos College Falcons 81-72 in their first conference game in the Hall of Champions on Wednesday evening. With the loss, the Vikings drop to 7-12 overall and 1-0 in conference.

The Vikings tied the game four times and had the largest lead of the game in the first quarter by six points. In total, Long Beach was 72.2% at the line and had 18 total points in the paint. The Vikings only trailed by one point at the end of the first quarter and then only by three points at the half.

In the third quarter, Long Beach held the Falcons to only 14 points. The Falcons caught back up in the fourth quarter and closed out the 81-72 conference win over the Vikings.

Sophomore forward De'Brianna Hampton hit career-high record of 27 points and was 71.4% at the free throw line.  She totaled eight rebounds, had five assists, and had three steals against the Falcons.  Sophomore guard Kaylin Brown totaled 17 points and had four assists.

The Vikings will return to conference action on Friday, Jan. 25 at Compton College at 7 p.m.
