Women’s Basketball Falls to El Camino in Conference Action

The Long Beach City College women's basketball team fell to the El Camino College Warriors 62-56 in their fourth South Coast Conference game. With the loss, the Vikings drop to 9-13 overall and 2-2 in conference.

The Warriors took control of the ball early on in the game and outscored the Vikings in the first quarter 16-8.  In the second quarter, the Vikings dropped 20 points, but it wasn't enough to take the lead.

The Warriors pushed on offensively and eventually took home the 62-56 win over the Vikings.

Sophomore forward Imani Edmond reeled in the double-double with 19 points and 10 rebounds. Sophomore forward De'Brianna Hampton was near perfect at the line with going four-for-five and totaled 14 points and had nine rebounds for the Vikings.

The Long Beach City College women's basketball team will play again on Wed., Feb. 6 at LA Southwest College at 7 p.m.
