SCC Announces Four Women’s Basketball Athletes to All-Conference List

It was recently announced by the California Community College Athletic Association that four members of the Long Beach City College women's basketball team earned South Coast Conference-South All-Conference recognition at the conclusion of the 2018-19 season. Freshman guard Naomi Winston-Ellis hauled in First-Team honors, while sophomore guard Kaylin Brown, sophomore forward Imani Edmond and sophomore forward De'Brianna Hampton all earned Second-Team accolades.

Winston-Ellis earned First-Team honors with being third on the conference leaderboard with averaging 1.5 blocks per game. She also was fourth in conference for averaging 43.4% in field goals. Winston-Ellis also totaled 98 assists while averaging 9.7 rebounds per game.

Brown brings in Second-Team recognition as she was second on the conference leaderboard with having 36.3% percent in three pointers. Brown also averaged 12.3 points per game and held 42 assists in conference play.

Edmond made the Second-Team list with her offensive skills. Edmond was on the conference leaderboard with averaging 1.9 steals per game against her opponents. During the conference season, Edmond totaled 34 rebounds and averaged 10.3 points per game.

Hampton rounded out the All-Conference selections for the Vikings with a spot on the Second-Team list. Hampton was a leader on the court with averaging 15.3 points and 4.4 assists per game and was 65.4% at the free throw line.
