Women’s Basketball Dominate Golden West in Home Opener

The Long Beach City College Vikings defeated the Golden West College Rustlers 88-55 in their home opener on Tuesday evening in the Hall of Champions. With the win, the Vikings advance to 5-5 overall.

Freshman wing Donavion Huskey led the Vikings with 17 points. Huskey was a threat throughout the game as she totaled 13 rebounds and had five assists and six steals.

Leading the team with 14 rebounds was freshman point Ivori Scott. Scott also stood her ground on defense with four blocks and had four steals against the Rustlers.

The Vikings commanded the court with sophomore guard Isabel Lizarraga hitting 15 points and freshman wing Alexis Hillsey smashing four three pointers.

The Long Beach City College women's basketball team will be back in action on Friday, Dec. 19 at Santa Ana College at 5 p.m.
