2019 Top Vikings Performance- Women's Basketball Finished Conference Play with Perfect 10-0 Record

During the summer, the Vikings will be highlighting some of the Top Team Performances of the 2019-20 year. Due to concerns over COVID-19, competition for all spring sports were canceled halfway through their season.

The women's basketball team's top performance was their game against LA Harbor for the conference title. The state-ranked No. 20 Long Beach City College women's basketball team was crowned the South Coast Conference Champions on Feb. 20 after a 68-59 victory over LA Harbor College. This is the Vikings' seventh conference title and first since 2017.

The Vikings fought hard for their conference title as the two teams were tied 17-17 after the first quarter. After halftime, the Vikings were down 34-28, but then at the end of the third quarter, freshman wing Donavion Huskey hit the buzzer beater to tie the game 50-50. The Vikings only allowed the Seahawks to nine points in the final quarter and finished the game with the 68-59 win.

Huskey led the team with 12 points and 18 rebounds and was so close to the triple-double with seven assists. Freshman point Ivori Scott also had the double-double of 12 points and 11 rebounds.

The state-ranked No. 20 Vikings finished the season with a 20-9 overall record, were undefeated in conference with a 10-0 record, and earned a playoff berth in the SoCal Regionals.
