Long Beach cruises to huge 140-24 rout at San Bernardino Valley

SAN BERNARDINO – Sophomore Aaliyah Carter posted a triple-double with 25 points, 14 rebounds, and 11 steals to help lead Long Beach City College to a 140-24 non-conference victory at San Bernardino Valley College on Tuesday night.

The 116-point margin of victory for the Vikings was the largest in recent memory.

Carter put together her impressive game in just 25 minutes of play. She made 10 of 18 shots and added 5 assists to her big night.

As a team, the Vikings shot 61 for 111 from the floor, making just 6 three-pointers. LBCC totaled 43 steals on San Bernardino Valley's 62 turnovers and converted those to 104 points.

LBCC opened the first quarter with a 9-2 lead and went into the second ahead 33-8. The Vikings held SBVC scoreless in the third quarter and allowed just 8 points as well in the second and fourth.

Ariana Grimes scored a game-high 26 points while Jaden Sanderson added 20 points, 6 steals, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists. Malaysia Fisher contributed 15 points off the bench and Sierra Hill chipped in with 14 points.

The win was Long Beach's second straight and improved the Vikings to 6-3 overall. LBCC is back in action on Saturday (Dec. 3) when they travel to Moorpark College for a 3 p.m. non-conference game.
