FULLERTON – Amanda Lopez scored a game-high 21 points while Aaliyah Carter and Chioma Okenwa both posted double-doubles to help lead No. 18 state-ranked Long Beach City College to an 82-49 non-conference victory at Fullerton College on Wednesday night.

The Vikings returned to the court for the first time since Dec. 13 but LBCC didn't show any signs of rust with the extended holiday break from action.

Long Beach jumped out to a 14-0 lead to open the contest and was never threatened. LBCC held a commanding 44-17 advantage at halftime.

Cater, coming off a huge 28-point, 26-rebound performance in her last contest, totaled 18 points and 10 rebounds for her second straight double-double. Okenwa matched the feat with 12 points and a game-high 16 rebounds.

Lopez nearly had a double-double of her own as she added 9 rebounds to her 21-point outburst.

The Vikings snapped a two-game losing streak and improved to 9-6 overall. They are back in action on Friday (Jan. 6) when they travel to East Los Angeles College for a 5 p.m. South Coast Conference interdivision game.
