Greg Sii is renowned as the ultimate players’ coach and is committed to player and skill development. Thriving in the gym, he provides young athletes opportunities to grow in all facets of the game. Greg prioritizes building strong relationships with his players, both on and off the floor, striving to be a role model in all areas of life. As an educator and teacher, he emphasizes academics first, frequently offering the tools necessary for his players to graduate, obtain a degree, and excel in their chosen vocations. Making his coaching career with a holistic approach to athletic growth, Greg balances academic and athletic commitments. He has been coaching for over 20 years with various AAU Clubs (Jr Hoops, OGP, Troop West, Cal Storm, Jr NBA) and local High Schools (Lakewood, Millikan, Long Beach Poly, Warren, South Gate, Cabrillo) leading teams to significant achievements, including winning AAU Championships, League Titles, and CIF semifinals. Beginning his coaching journey with AAU teams, he developed and implemented training programs tailored to individual athletic needs, laying the foundation for his coaching philosophy focused on player development and skill enhancement. In personalized training sessions, Greg works to improve technical skills and game understanding, utilizing video analysis, mental conditioning programs, and comprehensive fitness plans to ensure balanced development. Greg holds a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Westwood College, South Bay, and plans to pursue a master’s degree in psychology. His background includes 14 years of service in the United States Navy, where he developed his passion for sports and athletic development, and currently holds a government position with the Department of Defense. Greg believes that a coach’s job is not only to develop the team as a whole but also to help individual athletes reach their full potential. With unique insights into identifying and overcoming physical or mental barriers, he has been instrumental in the continuous development and success of his teams throughout the years.
